Is the battery cover locked? Make sure the switch is to the right.
Is the battery charged or external power supply plugged in?
Perform a soft reset – see “A soft reset”.
Try removing the battery and external power, wait five seconds and then re-insert the battery.
Try removing the battery and external power and leaving the device without power overnight. In the morning re-insert the battery and external power.
Is there a light on the card to indicate it is working?
Has the card worked before?
Is the card known to work with the Zaurus? see “Wi-Fi cards – which ones work with the Zaurus”
Have you set the ESS-ID correctly? See “Going online – Wireless LAN”
Have you set the security correctly? See “Going online – Wireless LAN”
Are the PC Link Mode and Connection settings correct? See “Connecting to a PC via a USB cable”.
You can try connecting to the Zaurus using its IP address, rather than its name – see “Determining the Zaurus' IP address”. Then from your PC connect to the Zaurus using
smb://<your IP address>rather thansmb://zaurus. See “Using a TCP/IP-based connection”.Are you trying to connect via a Wi-Fi connection? If so, have you turned it on by tapping on the Wifi Sharing On applet on the Settings tab of the Home page?
Are the USB drivers installed? See “Installing USB drivers”.
Is the PC Link set correctly?
If error dialogs keep appearing on the Zaurus when you connect it to your PC, then disconnect the USB cable from the PC, quit from any remaining dialogs on the Zaurus and then re-connect the USB cable to the PC. It may be necessary to repeat this process more than once.
Is it a compatible card?
Is it inserted correctly?
Remove card, wait and plug back in
Reboot.
Is Bluetooth switch on, on your phone?
Is phone set to discoverable?
Pull card out, put it back in and search
Turn Bluetooth off and on, on your phone

Is there any indication of activity on your phone? e.g. Zaurus trying to connect
Pull card out, put it back in
Turn Bluetooth off and on, on your phone

Click details button and check phone, make, model, operator and country are correct
Check you have GPRS coverage
Check GPRS is enabled on your Network contract
If PAYG make sure you have some credit left
Cancel connection dialog and try again.
Pull card out, put it back in
Turn Bluetooth off and on on your phone
Reboot Zaurus
Reboot phone
Cancel connection dialog and try again.

If you've done a lot of playing about on the device it may be necessary to restore it to the state it was in when you bought it – to do this follow the instructions in “Returning the Zaurus to box-fresh state”.
Check that you are using a font that supports this special character.
Press the Japanese key two to the left of Space bar (i.e. immediately left of the key with –) to revert to normal.
Tap on the icon immediately to the right of the QT logo in the bottom left corner of the screen, (You've activated one of the on-screen entry methods by tapping this icon previously). See “Status bar” and “Screen-based input”.
