Our engineering ethos
We strongly believe in software programming as an art, not as a mechanical process driven from a functional specification. The art of creating great software is an iterative and incremental one, where simplicity and elegance are gained through experimentation, sharing and re-working. We take real pride in our work and our only regret is that unlike great building architecture, this work is not visible and consequently not fully appreciated by more people. Developing for mobile devices requires particular discipline and experience. Our own baptism came at Psion and then Symbian, where we were taught to develop for a constrained environment and to assume that our programs might need to run for years before a re-boot! We have applied these skills not only for mobile operating systems other than Symbian OS, but desktop and servers as well.
