I've found Figlabs service and products excellent, and their OS conversion is first class, so much so that I've actually sold my laptop and just use the Zaurus now! - Adam, York
As a long-time Psion user I felt lost when Psion stopped production. Then
I discovered Zaurus - just like my old Psion but ever better (a wonderful
screen, lots more storage, seamless transfer with my PC). In fact that's
the key - my Zaurus is really the best mini-PC I can imagine.
When I first bought my Zaurus I was occasionally annoyed by bits and pieces
of the English conversion that didn't work very well. Then I discovered Figlabs
with a fantastic translation - plus lots of really useful and relevant accessories.
Since then I've forgotten that my Zaurus was originally produced only for
the Japanese market. - Peter, Surrey
I have found FigLabs customer service and support absolutely second to none for speed, friendliness and helpfulness. Every query I've raised has been dealt with at a personal and friendly level, and all problems that can be rsolved have been resolved.
I find the excellent screen and keyboard of the Zaurus invaluable for writing. I record ideas, poems and other text on the Zaurus as well as Notes (which synchronise with Outlook). In addition I use KO/Pi & KA/Pi (two amazing free modules which are feature rich applications to 'replace' Address Book & Calendar) plus the excellent commercial package TextMaker. With the new Bluetooth functionality I can (as a contractor), search Jobsites, correspond with employers and agencies and send my CV, recieve Job Specifications. This is also invaluable to be as I'm self employed.
I'm not a techie, so it is important that the Zaurus is, above all, functional and efficient. - Roger, Wilts
As a company director who not only supports Open Source Developments but
actively pursues opportunities to broaden their reach, it was only right
that the PDA I used was based on this kind of technology.
The Zaurus PDA effectively is my Mini Laptop, along with a rather excellent
multi media centre - all fitting into my pocket, being readily accessible
over our networks. i.e. a serious machine for use in meetings, on plane /
train journeys that is stable enough to be taken seriously.
It moves PDAs into the realm of serious computers - a move I fully endorse.
I also recommend FigLabs excellent Japanese to English Conversion and after
sales support - truly excellent. Thank you ! - Tim, Lancashire
The Zaurus SL-C3100 is far and away the best PDA I've ever come across; and it's a joy to be able to hack Linux on what's really a Bonsai laptop. - David, Glamorgan
Other reviews
Below are links to some useful reviews and comments from individuals. Whilst some of these reviews mention our competitors, we thought the information was sufficiently useful to you and we think we offer a competitive price and excellent conversion, software and manual.
Please note that prices mentioned often do not include local taxes.
In fact it is worth pointing out that not all Zauruii are the same: the quality of conversion and additional applications provided varies greatly from company to company. Our sole focus is on the Zaurus: we don't sell any other device and we take great pride in making our product as good as possible.
You will notice that the C1000 has far fewer reviews - this is simply because it is newer than the C3000 and very similar, the only differences being the colour and the absence of a hard drive.
